Ask me about travel in Ireland or about photography in Ireland.
Sunsets are often bright and colourful in Ireland, and on this occasion it was one of the most impressive that I have photographed.
Here, during a photography workshop covering sunset landscapes in the west of Ireland we encountered this scene with colourful clouds and open blue sky along with an orange sun.
Killarney is one of Ireland's most scenic places, here the famous lakes and mountains just outside of town are looking great at sunset on a cloudy day.
Finishing up on a recent photography workshop in the Irish countryside we spotted some interesting clouds heading towards the obscured sun.
Waiting for a few moments brought scenes like this, with sun rays bursting out in all directions as if search beams scanning the countryside.
Join me, Panoramic Ireland, to photograph in the Irish woodlands in autumn, spring, summer or winter.
Dublin's iconic Custom House at night, reflected in the River Liffey.
I posted a photo of the famous Dublin landmark as it was bathed in bright golden sunlight, see here: https://panoramicireland.com/photo-tours-blog/dublin-beautiful-colour-sunset-river-liffey-custom-house but I have photographed this building more often at night over the past twenty years.
Here are some of Panoramic Ireland's favourite images from May 2017 as seen in the YouTube video below.
Now it is only ruins and ivy, standing on a bluff overlooking a small river. Unlike many of the ruins dotting the Irish countryside this one was not destroyed in some war or conflict but in a conflagration that some say lasted for months, during repairs to the roof.
Autumn is almost over but this week Ireland has been treated to a riot of colour as fine, clear weather brought blue skies and golden light to highlight the myriad colours of the autumnal Irish countryside.
The Beauty of Sunset in Dublin
I often get asked what the weather is like in Dublin or in Ireland.
It's difficult to predict, the weather, but one thing is for sure - the weather here is a lot better than you might think, particularly for the photographer.
As the small stream makes its way from the open mountain, its source towards its destination - in this case to meet with a larger watercourse - a river, it flows through a small woodland of distinctive beauty.
At one point a sharp cut or cleft in the rock, allows the stream's fresh water to fall freely for a few feet or less than a metre as seen here.
