Grafton Street Makeover

Written by

If you are coming to Dublin in 2013, Grafton Street will be getting a makeover.

Grafton Street, Dublin

The mid-eighties paving seen in this image is going to be replaced with grey granite all the way from the highest point of Grafton Street at St. Stephen's Green to the Molly Malone Statue at Nassau Street.

To facilitate the works, everything must go - bins, streetlights etc., everything to the shopfronts. The surrounding streets will also get a makeover on a phased basis. Works are now underway.

So, if you are planning to get images of this famous Irish street - an architectural conservation area - without building works in shot, perhaps you should plan a visit for 2012!

Works are progressing well on Grafton Street now, with much of the street decked out in the new grey paving.
