Cygnets Preening

Almost-swans at the end of the summer

Earlier in the summer I photographed these cygnets as they wandered around St. Stephen's Green in Dublin's city centre, check out the picture here - Cygnets.

They've grown a lot and are now almost swans, standing close to people and preening in a relaxed fashion, they are quite tame because they get a lot of attention from locals and tourists, snatching bread from anyone within reach of those long necks. And what a summer it has been, with plenty of visitors from overseas and from all over Ireland visiting Dublin's parks the swans and ducks have been well fed.

I think there might be enough feathers on the grass here to make a good pillow or two.
