The gable end of 12 Montague Street, Dublin as it faces onto Montague Lane is temporarily home to an artwork by Joe Caslin which aims to highlight the work of charity Samaritans.

The street artist, who is also a teacher, uses pencil drawings to highlight societal issues in contemporary Ireland, has unveiled his latest artwork in Dublin to bring attention to Dubliners of the work carried out by Samaritans.

Utilising the concept of the 15th century Japanese technique of Kintsugi in which broken pottery is repaired using powdered gold, Caslin's artwork of a male figure with the Kintsugi gold holding his face together suggests the idea that people may appear whole now but might have been broken before.

Samaritans do amazing work for those who need help, operating a 24 hour helpline for free via this number: 116 123 from anywhere in Ireland - from Antrim to Wexford and it's free to call.

Dublin is a good place for street photography, full of character in its people and its buildings. Often in the streetscape itself although some difficulty exists throughout much of the city centre with visual intrusions.

This scene is a good example, a classic image of a cobbled street filled with old buildings and the famous Guinness gatebeing passed by two locals wearing dark clothes who themselves look a little like a pint of Guinness on legs.

Join me, Panoramic Ireland, to photograph street photography, landscapes, seascapes and more in Dublin and throughout Ireland.

On Monday 25th of November join me for a special price of only €135 for an afternoon of street photography in Dublin, usual price €215.

Street Art in Dublin, Sunny Day Photography

A sunny day in Dublin and wandering in the back streets, a man on a bicycle passes street art of famous guitarist Slash from Guns N' Roses.

Guns N' Roses are due to play a rescheduled concert in Dublin's Marlay Park in June 2021, the 2020 date having been cancelled due to Coronavirus / COVID-19.

Taken on a Panoramic Ireland photography tour of Dublin.

Flower Sellers of Grafton Street, Dublin

The flower sellers of Dublin's Grafton Street are a famous sight on the well-trod thoroughfare.

They have brightened the streets of Dublin, and the lives of Dubliners, for centuries.

Here, a colour-filled flower stall with fine blooms.

In the background, if you look carefully, you can see the Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) statue outside of Bruxelles.

In 2019 the flower sellers of Grafton Street were accused of being "street clutter" by a property group who own several shops in the area, they later apologised and the flower sellers are indeed still there brightening up the streets of Dublin.

Street photography can through up some unusual situations and give rise to interesting photographs.

Here, a visiting bishop arrives, Saint Patrick maybe, with his travel case on the cobbled alleys of Dublin and stops to talk with, or perhaps berate, the street vendors with their sandwich boards advertising Thai massages in Dublin.

Street Photography Evening in Dublin

Dublin is a fine city of wide avenues and cobbled streets lined with pubs.

Famed for its nightlife the world over, Dublin has more pubs than any other county or city in Ireland.

With approximately 750 pubs, that figure was a lot more in the past, Dublin's pubs are often cited by tourists and visitors to the city as one of the key reasons to visit Ireland.

Here, people enjoying an evening out in Temple Bar stand outside the most photographed pub in Ireland, The Temple Bar.

Cobbles - Street Photography in Dublin

Street photography is an interesting pursuit, often requiring more patience than landscape photography.

Street photography often suits inclement weather, but more often than not it suits bright, sunshiny, direct light.

Street Photography in the Snow

Street photography comes in all styles, shapes and sizes.

Here during the current snow storm to hit Ireland, known as Storm Emma and the Beast from the East, a man shielded by an umbrella walks up the steep, snow-covered Dawson Street in Armagh, Ireland's ecclesiastic capital.

Street Photography in Dublin

Dublin is a great city for street photography, the small size and relaxed attitude of its inhabitants coupled with small cobbled streets and alleyways makes for many opportunities to photograph people on the Irish capital's streets.

Join me, Panoramic Ireland, to photograph the streets of Dublin on one of my photography workshops throughout the year.

Busking on Grafton Street, Dublin

Walking through Dublin is one of my favourite things to do, especially as I create personalised walking photo tours of Ireland's capital city.

Here on an evening after a photography tour in the city that I know so well, I spotted this busker on Dublin's famous Grafton Street.

Check out my Channel on YouTube or just watch the video here below for a moment of Grafton Street after dark.
