Wild Atlantic Way Sunset, Connemara

Another tour of Connemara

After a few weeks of travelling (more to come on that) I am back in Ireland and led a photo tour in Connemara with MC from New Zealand last week.

The weather was fine, stormy at times and very windy in places but with plenty of cloud action to keep the skies interesting.

We travelled around the countryside making a circuit from Galway, passing through mountains and valleys and past lakes, through bogland the views were ever-changing and always breathtaking.

The adventure was good, starting at midday and finishing at midnight the variety and feel of the images captured were varied. From blue sky, big cloud afternoon images to long exposure streaky clouds and soft water in the evening. Through in some architecture and ruins and you can see how varied a day in such a small region can actually be. It is an area roughly 40 x 60 km in size yet it would be easy to spend up to a week here without being bored.

Offshore islands also add to the attraction of Connemara with Inisbofin and the three Aran Islands providing varied reasons to visit.

This was yet another Tour of Connemara and one full of great photography opportunities.
