As we travelled along the backroads, the sky looked ever more promising so instead of heading to our intended destination directly, the sensible thing was to head towards a viewpoint to photograph this majestic scene of sun rays and blue sky, created with the help of that big cloud to scatter and concentrate the sunlight in different directions at the same time.
Then on to our destination for the final sunset image but for me this was the image of the day, a finely balanced nature inspired photograph of the beauty of the Irish landscape.
