Rainbow over Dublin's Ha'penny Bridge

Dublin isn't just a city of amazing architecture, great pubs and leafy parks, it's also a city of impressive skies.

Here the iconic Ha'penny Bridge spanning the River Liffey is illuminated by a double rainbow.

I have written about the famous Dublin bridge before, and have photographed it on many occasions but here with a rainbow and a faint second rainbow under a stormy sky was one of those special moments of great light and location.

It had been raining just moments prior to this and there was still some light raindrops in the air over the bridge when the sun came out from behind the stormclouds, giving this rainbow and the second by reflection and refraction of light through the water droplets.

Over the years I have photographed many rainbows, a snowbow, spraybow and ringed glory from Ireland's Croagh Patrick mountain.

Have you seen any of these on your travels?
