Dark Hedges, Northern Ireland

Recently while leading another photo tour to my own part of Ireland, County Antrim, we stopped off at the Dark Hedges.

Choosing a morning before all of the groups arrived we had the famous avenue of beech trees pretty much to ourselves as S.S. visiting from California photographed Bregagh Road on this, his first visit to Northern Ireland.

A few others turned up and despite all of the recent press surrounding the Dark Hedges, the traffic problems caused by the roads popularity amongst Game of Thrones fans, everyone was cheerful and respectful.

After a short time of photographing the lady seen in this image asked everyone else if they had got their images as she wanted to head back down the road, she was doing a photoshoot with her son.

This was quite the friendly experience as I've said, previous visits have involved trying to photograph between the hordes of GOT fans dressing up and posing on the road as their minibuses park midway along the scenic route.

Join me on a photography tour on the Antrim Coast, the Giant's Causeway and Dark Hedges.
