This image was taken on a photography workshop in Ireland's west, a place I know very well and in which I lead many photographers to find and photograph interesting scenes of landscapes, people and the villages of the Wild Atlantic Way.
This scene shows that the ordinary landscapes of Ireland are as scenic as those from anywhere in the world.
On this occasion we wanted to get characterful scenes after photographing at Kylemore Abbey and to try and get out from the cloud base that covered Connemara at the time, we headed for the coast and waited for a short time for a change of conditions. A good choice as the clouds were moving and sunshine was tracking across the countryside - as in this image from Wicklow.
