Here is one of my Panoramic Ireland images, the slow flowing river with not a ripple in sight flows past woods on both sides under a blue sky. An opening on my side of the river provided the perfect location to set up the tripod and take some time to create a panorama.
Colourful leaves still on the branches, but for how long? On the woodland floor yellow and red is all around.
A peaceful place to stop just to relax and admire the colour, the musty woodland smells and sounds of birds calling, the blackbird rustling as it turns over leaf after leaf and squirrels scampering up, then down trees, burying nuts in that soft woodland soil. I wandered far from any man-made noises until, as I set up my camera on its tripod, the click of the camera shutter, all over in a few moments and hardly loud enough to wake a sleeping badger.
The river made hardly a sound save for the occasional jumping of fish, the multitude of fallen leaves underfoot were sometimes crunchy, sometimes silky and freshly exposed, as I walked, last years humified foliage - the foundation of great soil and the cycle of nature.
