A Green Lane in Ireland

The Irish countryside in summer is a fine place, with green in abundance.

Many sights are full, overcrowded with tourists who come to see the famous places such as the Cliffs of Moher and the Giant's Causeway.

But much of Ireland's charm lies in the hidden heartlands of the country, those parts with no famous locations.

And that is where I have been recently, visiting the backroads and laneways of rural, green, quiet Ireland meeting friendly locals and meeting no tourist coaches on the roads.

A fine and relaxing place for touring and for photography, this is how Ireland really looks and how our ancestors would have seen it.
