The Green Road

I have written about green roads and rural lanes here on Panoramic Ireland before. Here is one from a walk in the Irish countryside earlier this year, 2019: https://panoramicireland.com/blog-ireland-guide/irish-summer-green-rural-lane-trees-exploring

Here, stopping along the back roads of the Irish countryside - in the west we went exploring and photographed one of the most scenic lanes in the country.

I have led many photography tours to my own Dark Hedges, a place that I call the most photographed road in Ireland, and it is a most scenic place but it is also a most overrun place so finding lanes and rural roads like the one here on this post is always a delight.

The entire journey along this green country way, an ancient track across the Irish landscape was entirely without the presence of other people. We were able to photograph the hedges and lines and tunnels of the road without any distractions - unlike at the Dark Hedges, often busier than Grafton Street in Dublin.

Join Panoramic Ireland's private photography tours and workshops to see the real Ireland, photograph some of the famous places and also the quiet, hidden places like these lanes.
