Wexford has just had the Fleadh but the Irish town is not finished with summer as another fine outdoor event, Wexford Walled Town Day, is taking place this weekend at Westgate Park, Abbey Street in Wexford Town.

Wexford Walled Town Day is part of Heritage Week and the medieval walled town will be filled with history walks and talks from Wex Walks, traditional music by Craobh Loch Garman Comhaltas, face painting, falconry and owls display from the Irish National Heritage Park, and jewellery making using traditional, medieval techniques by Irish goldsmith Christina Keogh, pictured above.

Come along and discover what medieval life was like in Ireland hundreds of years ago with interactive fun for all ages on Saturday 17th of August from 12:00 to 17:00. You might spot medieval drummers walking around Wexford too.

Ireland's national airline, Aer Lingus has announced pretty good deals for travel from Boston to Shannon in the west of Ireland and New York (JFK) to Dublin.

Return flights and car hire giving you six nights in Ireland start at $499 per person including taxes and charges and these prices can be used for travel all through the winter and spring 2023.

The price is based on two people sharing a car and travelling together but what a perfect way to see Ireland, with a friend travelling around the quiet backroads outside of the tourist season, to photograph scenes like those below.

But you only have until October 14th to book the Aer Lingus flights, take a little longer to think about a Panoramic Ireland photography tour.

For extra, flights from other US cities can be booked as can an automatic car if the manual (stick shift) option doesn't appeal.

Ireland is a fine place in the off season, so enjoy the above collage of autumn, winter and spring images as well as the gallery below.

While you are travelling around in your hire car why not meet up with me for a half day or full day to photograph the colourful Irish countryside where you are in the quieter months.

To find out more send me an email or use the Contact form.

Panoramic Ireland's photography tours and workshops operate all year round in Ireland, see the Emerald Isle without the tourists.

As you may have already heard, July 19th will see a number of restrictions eased in regards to COVID / Coronavirus in Ireland.

The world's most restrictive lockdown will be no more, in time for the arrival of the Indian or Delta variant.

Travel into Ireland from overseas will be relaxed so if you are looking to find out more about travel to Ireland after Covid then look no further.

The Common Travel Area (Ireland and Britain) is separate to the EU Schengen rules, and travel from Britain will be eased to allow visitors to not have to go into quarantine. The hotels they use for mandatory hotel quarantine do little for the reputation of the country's tourism sector; no local would want to stay there and thankfully if you are visiting from Britain, the USA and Europe you won't have to from the middle of the month!

Top Five Things to do in Dublin

Panoramic Ireland's Dublin photo tours have been listed as one of the top five things to do in Dublin by the Travel section of the New Zealand Herald.

Sitting alongside Dublin's most popular tourist attractions in the guise of The Guinness Storehouse, The Book of Kells in the Long Room Library at Trinity College and the tourist mecca of Temple Bar, our photography tours were commended for their tailored, one-on-one basis.
