Dublin is a great city for street photography, the small size and relaxed attitude of its inhabitants coupled with small cobbled streets and alleyways makes for many opportunities to photograph people on the Irish capital's streets.

A recent commission took me back to the spectacular Antrim Coast of Northern Ireland. It would be easy to divide the coast of Co. Antrim into two sections, the Causeway Coast running east-west along the top of Northern Ireland and the Antrim or Glens Coast running north-south along the east of the island.

Photography in Stormy Weather

Stormy weather and photography often produce spectacular results, large waves, storm clouds and lightning in the sky are exciting subjects. Wind and rain means very wet conditions, despite how much you try to waterproof your camera water will always find its way in. Some SLR cameras have water resistant seals on the buttons, dials and on the lens mount but in heavy downpours your equipment is at risk.

I do practice street photography regularly, in Ireland and in Italy where I have spent some time photographing nuns in Assisi, the calli of Venice and the hill-top towns of Umbria. I do enjoy street photography, the interactions and looking for that fleeting image, to capture a moment in time is exciting.
