Giant's Causeway Photography Course

Join me for a private photography day course at the Giant’s Causeway, one of Northern Ireland’s most photographed — and most misunderstood — locations. Most visitors get twenty minutes at the main columns in flat midday light. This course is built around giving you the hours either side of that, when the coastline actually photographs well.

We’ll work through when to use Av, Tv, S or M and why, but the real focus is the causeway itself: managing the flatness of overcast midday light on grey basalt, using a long exposure to smooth spray off the columns without losing their structure, and timing shots around the tide — low water opens up compositions across the lower causeway that are underwater for most of the day.

The schedule flexes with the season and the weather on the day. From September to March we can run sunrise to sunset; during the longer days of summer we’ll prioritise one end of the day, or cover both with a break through midday.

Price: £500 for a private full day (you, or you and a friend). A shorter session is bookable directly through the site; the full day is arranged by contacting me directly, with balance due before the course begins.

This course can be extended with a Lightroom and Photoshop post-processing session the following day, working on the images from the shoot.
