Each morning brings different conditions, sometimes sunrise coincides with high tide, sometimes it's stormy and sometimes there is a cloud-filled sky. In the city centre good weather has everyone in the parks and bad weather will send the photographer indoors at least until the worst of the weather has passed.
This morning, there was a cloud bank across the horizon but there was soon some sunlight shining through and illuminating everything. For a change, I shot into the sun and although I would have been preferred the tide to be slightly higher, covering some of the foreground rocks, it was still a great morning to be out early.
If you are looking for something to do when you visit Dublin I recommend that you try and make it to the coast, whether it's Howth or Sandycove; you're missing out if you don't - there is no shortage of great coastal landscape photography to be captured.
