A Walk in the Woods

Spring is here at long last.

The traditional beginning of spring in Ireland is St. Brigid's Day on the the 1st of February, in the meteorological calendar spring starts on the 1st of March and often the passing of the Spring Equinox on the 20th/21st of March is regarded as the true beginning of the season that sees the hedgerows and woodlands of Ireland erupt into life with fresh green carpeting the countryside and urban parks of the Emerald Isle.

Whatever the date, it can now be said that here in Ireland, along with the rest of the northern hemisphere of Earth, we are now enjoying springtime.

Here I took a walk into the woods with my camera, along the path and over the bridge before the road became only a dirt track.

Surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of the fresh season I took a rest and enjoyed the longer days, warmer weather and feeling that another winter has passed.

Photography can be as adventurous or as relaxing as you like, it can help one to relax and put away the stresses and pains of daily life much like any meditative therapy.

Join me on a photography tour or workshop, take time to enjoy the natural surroundings while learning how to capture the essence of the countryside on a private one-to-one tour - and why not bring a friend who might also benefit from the quiet calm of the fresh green spring landscape.
