This image from Wicklow's Lough Tay - also known as the Guinness Lake, one of the most scenic parts of Wicklow and one of my favourite locations - is a case in point.
On many occasions I have stood on the bluff overlooking the lake sitting deep within the valley yet this week, yesterday as I write this, I was greeted with calm and sunny conditions while leading a photography workshop in Ireland's Garden County.
The lake is usually covered with wind-driven waves, dark and foreboding. Yesterday there was little wind and on such a calm day the lake looked calm and reflected the cloud-filled sky above.
As a photographer these locations never get tiring, it is not possible to see them too often; photographing landscapes such as this scene is always enjoyable and rewarding.
Panoramic Ireland organise photography tours and workshops throughout Ireland - from Wicklow's landscapes to Belfast's streets.
