Dublin At Night

Written by

The River Liffey at Night

Dublin's River Liffey, like many urban waterways, is often best seen at night with its colourfully-lit buildings and reflections.

This image taken on a photography workshop at the end of September 2012.

A tripod and remote release are necessary to create an image such as this. And the right conditions on the river, that is something ephemeral; tides and wind contributing to or obfuscating a good reflection of the Samuel Beckett bridge, Jeannie Johnston Famine ship and the National Convention Centre.

This is a section of the river that has changed a lot over the past 10 years, with the new buildings, bridges and installations along the quays where previously it was a no-go area after dark.
