Ducks At Glendalough

Written by

Spending time at Glendalough, particularly on summer weekends, moments of peacefulness can be few and far between as Wicklow's most popular location gets more than 1 million visitors every year.

In October, however, the scene at Glendalough is much more tranquil. It is easy to forget that this isolated Irish valley, one-time home to St. Kevin, gets over one million visitors every year.

That's why a scene like this is so refreshing and not only for the wind that was whipping down the valley. These four ducks arrived quickly from a neighbouring beach, perhaps expecting some bread. Instead they preened and then headed back into the choppy water of this Co. Wicklow lake.

They didn't sign a model release!
