Dublin Photo Tours by Panoramic Ireland — private bespoke photography experiences in Ireland's capital since 2006. Tours are bookable for any days in 2026, 2027 and beyond - subject to availability.

Join Irish professional travel photographer Darren for a private guided photo tour of Dublin, one of Europe's most rewarding capital cities — compact, flat, and full of hidden angles along the River Liffey and beyond. Darren has been commissioned by The New York Times, Ritz-Carlton, easyJet's Traveller Magazine and Eater. His images have also appeared in The Sunday Times and The Irish Times.

Every tour is private — just you and your group — and entirely flexible. There are many routes through Dublin depending on what you prefer, and Darren will tailor the experience on the day. Please note this tour covers Dublin City, not its coastline.

Ha'penny Bridge illuminated at night over the River Liffey, Dublin — long exposure photography by Panoramic Ireland

What we cover

Dublin rewards the patient photographer at every turn. The Ha'penny Bridge — Dublin's most iconic crossing — comes alive at blue hour when the cast-iron railings glow against the Liffey and the city lights mirror in the water below. Trinity College offers centuries of architectural history in a single courtyard, from the Parliament Square façade to the hidden corners most visitors never find. The Georgian streets around Merrion Square and the Grand Canal give you some of the finest 18th-century architecture in Europe — Dublin's colourful doors, fanlight windows, and lamp-lit pavements that reward a slower pace. Temple Bar and the cobbled streets of the cultural quarter offer colour, energy and photographic character at any hour. The Custom House on the north quays is one of James Gandon's finest neoclassical buildings, and its reflection in the Liffey on a still morning is extraordinary. And the quays along the River Liffey — from the Famine Memorial to the Samuel Beckett Bridge — give you the full sweep of Dublin's relationship with its river. At the heart of it all, Dublin Castle is a fine place to stop in the middle of the city for a few moments to look for architectural details.

This is a guide to the possibilities, not a fixed itinerary. Every tour is shaped on the day around what you want to shoot, how much time you have, and where the light is best. Tour stops are exterior/public-space photography locations; admission tickets are not included but we don't usually venture into ticketed places.

This tour is priced for two people. For €50 extra you can bring a friend, or make it a dedicated one-to-one photography experience. Children under 16 go free.

To book, choose your date on the calendar and scroll down to select a time slot. Click Add to Cart and then OK to confirm. To complete your booking, click Checkout and enter your details. This will take you to PayPal to finish your payment. If you have any questions at any point, use the Contact page and Darren will get back to you.

Prefer to enquire first? Just send an email with your preferred dates and Darren will be happy to help.

Every tour is unique — the route map below is a guide only. We can cover whatever you like in Dublin, at any time of day.

If you need help choosing a start time, get in touch via the contact page.

In summer, the 19:00 start becomes our Evening & Night Photography Experience — available May to August when Dublin stays bright until 10:30pm. Begin in golden hour light, shoot through blue hour, and finish with Dublin's spectacular urban nightscape — illuminated bridges, Liffey reflections, Temple Bar after dark. A completely different city, and worth every minute.

Private Photo Tour of Belfast

Belfast is one of the most compelling photography destinations in these islands right now — a city that has reinvented itself with remarkable confidence. The Victorian grandeur of City Hall and the Opera House sits alongside the soaring contemporary architecture of the Titanic Quarter. The Cathedral Quarter's cobbled streets and vibrant street art give way to the wide sweep of the River Lagan and the glittering new waterfront. It's a city of extraordinary visual contrast, and one that rewards the photographer who takes the time to look beyond the obvious.

Belfast City Hall photographed on a private photography tour with Panoramic Ireland

Every tour is private and entirely tailored to what you want to shoot. If you're drawn to the powerful imagery of the Falls Road and Shankill murals — one of the most photographed political landscapes in the world — we can build the tour around that. If you prefer the energy of Cathedral Quarter's laneways, the reflections on the Lagan at golden hour, or the dramatic scale of Titanic Belfast against the shipyard cranes, we go there instead. Most tours combine several of these elements, moving between Belfast's distinct neighbourhoods and letting the light guide us.

Darren brings two decades of professional photography experience to every session, with work published in the New York Times, The Guardian and The Irish Times. Whether you're shooting on a smartphone or a mirrorless camera, you'll leave with images that capture Belfast as it actually feels — dynamic, layered, and full of character.

Private Photography Workshop on the Causeway Coast, Antrim, Northern Ireland (2026-07-21)
£500.00 GBP
06:40 hours
1

This is a private photography workshop — bring a friend, partner or family along. Price is for 1–4 people.

The Causeway Coast is one of the great photography destinations of Europe. Nowhere else on this scale offers such a concentration of extraordinary natural and historic subjects within a single stretch of coastline — geological formations that predate human history, a medieval castle clinging to a sea stack above the Atlantic, and ancient woodland lanes that feel like they belong to another world entirely. This is a landscape that rewards the photographer who knows where to stand and when to press the shutter, and that is exactly what this workshop is designed to provide.

Giant's Causeway photographed on a private photography workshop with Panoramic Ireland

Giant's Causeway

The Giant's Causeway is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for good reason — approximately 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, formed by ancient volcanic activity, descending in steps to the sea. The geometry is extraordinary: perfect hexagonal columns at every scale, tide pools catching the sky, and the Atlantic beyond. The Causeway rewards patience. At low tide the foreground opens up completely. At golden hour the basalt takes on warm tones that contrast with the cold sea. In mist or after rain, the stones darken and the whole landscape shifts. Please note that entry to the Giant's Causeway visitor centre is not included — admission is payable on the day to the National Trust.

Dunluce Castle

Dunluce Castle is one of the most dramatically situated medieval ruins in Europe. Built on a basalt sea stack jutting into the North Atlantic, it is connected to the mainland by a narrow bridge — and has been partially claimed by the sea over the centuries, which only adds to its visual power. The castle's silhouette against a stormy sky or at last light is one of the defining images of the Antrim Coast. We work the angles — from the cliff edge looking across, from below at the sea stack base, and from the headland to the east where the full scale of the site becomes clear. Entry to Dunluce Castle is not included and is payable on the day.

The Dark Hedges

The Dark Hedges are among the most photographed natural features in Ireland — a tunnel of intertwined beech trees lining Bregagh Road near Armoy, planted in the eighteenth century and now forming a cathedral-like canopy overhead. Made internationally famous by Game of Thrones, the challenge here is to find a composition that transcends the obvious. Early morning in low mist, late evening when the light catches the branches from a low angle, or winter when the bare trees reveal their structure most clearly — timing and approach matter enormously. Darren knows this location in every season and will position you for the best result.

Coastal Locations

Beyond the headline locations, the Antrim Coast itself offers relentless photographic material — sea arches, rock platforms, cliff-top viewpoints, and the ever-changing relationship between land, sea and sky. The light here moves fast and the weather shifts constantly, which is both the challenge and the reward. Other locations on request.

The Two-Day Option

For those who want to make the most of the golden hour and blue hour light that makes this coastline exceptional, we offer a split two-day workshop. Evening session on day one captures the last light and dusk; morning session on day two covers sunrise and the early hours before the tourist coaches arrive. Total time is ten hours across the two sessions. This option is best suited to those staying locally. Available on request — please use the Contact page to discuss dates and logistics.

All workshops include post-session feedback and image review with Darren. To book the standard workshop, choose your date on the calendar and scroll down to select a time slot. Click Add to Cart and then Checkout to complete your booking. For the two-day option or any custom arrangements, use the Contact page and Darren will get back to you.

As always, if you want to do something different or have specific locations in mind, just send an email with your ideas.

The location of Panoramic Ireland's Wicklow Photography Workshop will vary based on your requirements and the weather conditions but often will include Glendalough, the mountains, woodlands and streams of Wicklow.

Wicklow, known as The Garden of Ireland is situated on Ireland's east coast and contains some of the best scenery in Ireland. Situated just south of Dublin, it makes for a perfect introduction to rural Ireland featuring everything from pretty villages and sandy beaches to forests and streams. Home to the largest continuous upland area in Ireland, the highest mountain in Leinster - Lugnaquilla, and some of the best walking trails in Ireland, it is surprising that Wicklow is often overlooked in favour of the Atlantic coast. Aside from the varied geography and locations such as Glendalough, Wicklow's greatest strength lies in its easy access from Dublin. From the city centre of the capital city, it is possible to be driving on some of the most isolated roads in Ireland within 45 minutes. Even if you are only in Ireland for a few days, consider a combination of a Dublin and Wicklow photo tour to see the best of urban and rural Ireland with not too much effort. It is this close proximity to Dublin that makes Wicklow the perfect location for photography workshops and we run these on a regular basis throughout the year.

Join Irish professional travel photographer Darren for a private guided photography workshop through Galway City — one of Ireland's most atmospheric and visually rewarding destinations. Darren has been commissioned by The New York Times, easyJet's Traveller Magazine and Eater. His images have also appeared in The Guardian, The Sunday Times and The Irish Times.

Every workshop is private — just you and your group — and entirely tailored to what you want to shoot. There are no fixed routes.

Blackrock diving tower at dusk, Salthill, Galway — long exposure photography by Panoramic Ireland

What we cover

The workshop takes in Galway's most photogenic locations at their best. The Spanish Arch and the medieval city walls offer strong geometry and texture, particularly in warm afternoon light. The Claddagh — one of Ireland's oldest fishing villages — sits at the mouth of the River Corrib where it meets Galway Bay, and on a calm day the reflections of boats and sky on the water are extraordinary. Shop Street and the Latin Quarter give you colour, street life and the architectural character of a city that has been welcoming visitors for centuries. Eyre Square frames the city's civic heart beautifully, and if time and conditions allow, Salthill opens onto the full sweep of Galway Bay — where on a clear day the hills of the Burren rise across the water in County Clare.

Because Galway City is compact, three hours covers the key locations comfortably — but if you want to slow down, go deeper, or extend towards Salthill and the bay, Darren is always happy to keep going. The experience is yours to shape.
