After all with approximately 130,000 people lining the quays of the River Liffey in Dublin to see the most interesting airshow to visit Ireland it would have been a shame if it was cancelled or curtailed.
It does go to show, it doesn't rain in Ireland as much as you would think!
A few images from the day are shown below and although I unfortunately had to head on before the show was over it was still an enjoyable experience, with the north and south quays packed out. By all accounts even the Ha'penny Bridge was at capacity as the various aircraft approached from the Irish Sea flying along the course of the Liffey before banking to the south. Over 30 aircraft took part in the Flightfest 2013 flying at around 800ft or 240m above the River Liffey, organised as part of The Gathering, Ireland's year long tourism initiative aimed at encouraging more tourists to visit Ireland.
