Connemara

Researching locations for a photography workshop can be very rewarding, especially if the location is in the west of Ireland. Here in Connemara there is notonly a land of bog, mountain and sky but also a land of machair, ponies, and the sea, or, in this case, the Atlantic Ocean.

There are many theories as to the origin of the Connemara pony, from Scandinavian ponies brought over by the Vikings to Andalusian horses shipwrecked in the west of Ireland from the Spanish Armada ships in 1588. Whatever their origin, Connemara ponies are at home in this beautiful landscape.

Colourful, exciting and rewarding all in one, I'm sure you will agree. Feel free to let me know if you would feel disappointed to witness this scene for yourself.

Probably my favourite place in the whole of Ireland, where better on a sunny day?
