Saint Patrick's Day, Galway 2016

Hello and welcome to the redesigned panoramicireland.com. I have been working hard on the site over recent weeks and have now had some time to get out with the camera on my own terms.

I've led several photography workshops in Galway over the past few days and today I had a day to myself that didn't include website designing.

It's Saint Patrick's Day, the 17th March, so I went to see the nearest parade and that was Galway. It was sunny again today just like last year in the small Atlantic coast city.

Being the day that everyone wants to be Irish there was a special atmosphere in this festival-oriented city, I heard Spanish, German, French (lots of French), English, Irish, Japanese and a few other languages although that might have been English spoken under the influence. The Spanish Arch area had plenty of action with latin dancing and the docks at the Claddagh were packed, every inch of grass had two feet or a bum on it and everyone was enjoying the sunshine.

After the wet and windy winter weather sunny spring looked to be making it more enjoyable for us all.

As usual there was plenty of colour and I will leave you with a few more of Galway's friendly faces.

More to follow as always, and don't forget to say hello just like these guys!
