The Irish Coast

Written by

Ireland's Winter Coastline

During the winter months, the long and varied coastline of Ireland becomes a main focus for the landscape photographer.

Images of the interior can look cold and barren but the coastline, often naturally devoid of trees and deciduous vegetation, can look stunning all year round.

Sunrise or sunset, accompanied by the movement of waves and the wide open coastal landscape make for an appealing panoramic image like the one above, and there is nothing more enjoyable than arriving at a spectacular stretch of coast like this, setting up the tripod and camera and waiting for the right light. Especially when you have this view all to yourself.
