Private London Photography Tour
Join a professional photographer whose work has appeared in the New York Times, Easyjet Traveller and Ritz-Carlton’s magazine, and learn how to photograph London.
London Photo Tours are private, six-hour photography experiences in the heart of the city. They combine tuition and a photo walk around St Paul’s Cathedral, the Thames, the architecture of the City of London and the street life along the South Bank. Every tour is tailored to you: your camera, your level and what you want to come home with.

What we photograph
St Paul’s Cathedral: Wren’s dome from the classic angles and from the less obvious ones, including reflections, rooftop views and the approach from the Millennium Bridge.
The Thames at night: blue hour and after dark along the river, with long exposures of bridges, light trails and the city skyline reflected in the water.
Architecture: the glass, steel and stone of the City, from Leadenhall and Lloyd’s to medieval lanes squeezed between towers. We’ll look at lines, symmetry and how to handle verticals.
Street photography: markets, commuters, buskers and the riverside crowds. You’ll learn how to read a scene, wait for the moment and photograph people confidently and respectfully.

A typical day
We usually start in the afternoon so the tour finishes in the best light of the day:
Afternoon: meet at St Paul’s for a briefing on your camera settings, then work around the cathedral and through the City’s architecture.
Late afternoon: cross the Millennium Bridge to the South Bank for street photography as the city gets busier.
Blue hour and night: along the Thames for night and long-exposure work, finishing near Tower Bridge or back towards St Paul’s.

The details
Duration: about 6 hours.
Meeting point: the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral, or your hotel if it’s central. Let me know where you’re staying.
Group: private, just you and the people you bring, up to a maximum of six. No strangers.
Price: £1450 per couple, plus £50 for each additional guest. Children go free.
Level: beginners to advanced. Any camera is fine, including phone, compact, mirrorless, DSLR or film.
Tripod: I can bring one for the night section at no extra cost.
Booking: a minimum of three days’ notice, please.

Good to know
Footwear: you’ll be on your feet for six hours, so wear comfortable shoes and bring a light rain jacket.
Tripods: parts of the South Bank are privately managed and restrict tripods. I know where they’re welcome and where it’s better to shoot handheld.
Bad weather: rain in London means reflections, umbrellas and glowing shop windows, so we’ll work with it. If the weather is exceptionally bad, we’ll reschedule or adapt the day.
Cancellation: cancel more than 28 days in advance and 50% may be refunded. Inside 28 days no refund can be given. I’ll always try to reschedule if your plans change.
Feedback: after the tour, send me a few of your images for a critique.
