A Wet End to Summer 2015

Summer in Ireland. It wasn't really tangible in 2015.

Most places in Ireland recorded a wetter, duller and colder summer (June, July and August) than usual.

This evening's image shows the level of water in the lake during a colourful and characterful sunset in the west of Ireland. Rainy at sunset, unlike this last sunset but with the same colours.

The high water level from a wetter, duller and colder summer is evident - flooded grasses where dry ground and flowers should be.

Night closes in and five wet feet (three from the tripod and two of mine) are set firm on the edge the lake as low rain clouds blow in. The last image of the evening is the one in this post, the first few taken were ruined with rain spots yet there was plenty of atmosphere including several rainbows through the landscape.

Join me on a Panoramic Ireland photography workshop in the west of Ireland or in Dublin.
