Asymmetry in the Mountains

Pony posing in Ireland, black and white image

A recent photography workshop took me to the mountains in search of horses, on this occasion the Comeragh Mountains in the southeast of Ireland.

With a lot of the high ground covered in snow, particularly in Northern Ireland, some of the lower peaks around the island of Ireland have just a dusting at the moment and the Comeragh Mountains are no exception.

This is a beautiful area and the image here is what we were looking for on the day in the highlands, to capture some of the character of the open mountain. There is life in the countryside during the winter, and how characterful it is.

Details for the above image are Canon DSLR, 24-70mm lens and processed using Adobe Photoshop. Freshly cut grass was used as payment for posing so kindly.

Thanks to Kieran H. for taking this image of me in action photographing this friendly local resident, and I hope to be able to showcase some of his (Kieran's, not the pony's) work on the site soon.
